Aston Villa 1 - 1 West Brom
My first Premier League game was at Villa Park yesterday afternoon. The two major local teams (Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion) would face each other on their first derby of the season. The game ended in a draw but for me and my two flatmates the experience felt like a victory. Almost at full capacity - carrying a loud thirty-four thousand plus fans - the stadium turned out to be less than 10 min from campus. Since this historic club rests just outside my dorm room window, I decided I would support Aston Villa as my British team by affinity.
